Recently, I moved to Houston for the summer. Now, I know what you're thinking, so to answer:
No, I am not prepared for the summer's heat and humidity.
No, I haven't ever really been to Texas.
Yes, I am excited to be here and go someplace new.
No, I don't have any family who lives here.
No, you can't set me up with someone you know who is also in Houston. (Well, that's not totally true. I could be persuaded otherwise...)

So far, I've had quite the adventure. I have worked for a week, and am excited to really get started on my projects. My roommates are really nice, and we have gotten along well. But as my first real weekend here comes to a close, I wanted to reflect on my experiences here.

For starters, Texans are extremely nice people. Many of them could literally talk to a stranger for an hour. All in all, I have definitely seen some stereotypical texans, and I have enjoyed meeting every one. I have also met some individuals that I wouldn't necessarily place in Texas. Apparently, if this weekend was any indication of the state, there is a large bro population. This makes sense, because bros grow into men who make beer can houses. The Beer Can House was really cool! It was a great visit :)

I look forward to more great weekends here!
